Play your matches and enter your scores ON TIME
My blog this month is a couple of weeks behind schedule. February was an extremely busy month and then my vacation in Mexico in the first week of March delayed it even longer.
League Playoff Season started slowly in February with the Southwest and Southeast Leagues. Things really ramp up in the month of March. First up, is the Beausejour League this weekend.
This is my rant for this month.
I have been looking over the Waiting Score Sheets list on Compusport. There are entirely too many matches that haven’t been played or scores not entered in all leagues. It has become way too easy for teams to cancel matches. Spares have become a huge problem, as well. We appreciate when teams enter and support Aactive and our locations, but players need to remind themselves that when they join a team in the league you have made a commitment. That commitment means showing up even when its cold or raining. Our weather this year has been so mild, no should have used that as an excuse. I will be putting some thought in how to rectify this problem for next year.
I get the question every year, “When is the final date to have all matches completed?” The answer is always, the Friday after the last scheduled date of the final week on the schedule. An example of this, in the Selkirk League the final scheduled date is Thursday, March 14th. That means I need all matches played and scores entered by Friday, March 15 at Noon. The reason for this is that there are numerous things that need to be done to prepare for each individual league’s year end playoffs. Playoff Schedules and awards take time to prepare. These are the dates that all matches need to be completed by in the following leagues:
- Brandon (All 4 Leagues) – Friday, March 29th at Noon
- Winnipeg (All Leagues) – Friday, April 12th at Noon
I have posted the Brandon League Singles Poster and Selkirk Leagues Singles Poster on Facebook on Monday, March 11th. I hope to have Winnipeg’s up by Friday. Entries are only accepted once the poster goes out. Entries can only be accepted with payment. In Brandon the only way you can enter is if you E-Transfer the payment to Lisa at lisacooper99@hotmail.com (Password – 2337665). In Winnipeg, there are 2 ways to pay, by E-Transfer or in person at the office, Aactive is located at 41 Burnett Ave, off Gateway between Springfield & McLeod.
